I'm trying to find out what a certain part is called. I turned on the heater today and after arriving at work noticed steam coming from under the hood. A part that is located on the passenger side of the engine connected to the heater hose. It looks like a black hat with a mechanicall lever attached at the bottom was leaking coolant down on to the motor. I do not have my book with me at work.
I have 1997 Explorer Sport
4.0 EFI ovh

any ideas? how much to replace or is this a common part that wears out!!!
