no way, the wiring is the highlight!!! Its awesome to see the judges faces when they look for best of show ;)

2x JBL 1200.1
1x Rockford 360.2
3x 1 F Tsunami Caps
1x Clarion x-over
2x 10" Rockford Hx2
Infinity Kappa components (these speakers are awesome)
Kenwood HU

Even though I have sworn off buying any more Rockford, I have to admit that they have taken a beating and still sound great. They are rated for 500W RMS and I'm giving them 1200 RMS.. I hit 142.9, and 140.9 on a pressure mic.

wow- looks professional

you say kappas are awesome? i just ordered two pairs of the 5.25i because my stock speakers are raped by my audiobahn awt12x sub. How do the kappas sound?

These are the only aftermarket speakers that I have ever bought so I dont really have anything to compare to. But I know from listening to my friends' systems that they are def. a quality choice. They have no problem keeping up with the subs and staying clear. Only problem I ever had with them was before I had my x-over. They go loud, but once they get to a certain point they dont like the low frequencies and they make a poping sound.

I'm with Expo5.0 on this. I think another 30 feet of misc wiring, and you'd take the best of show, without a doubt.

Dammit, I knew it wasnt enough.....

i have a 200 watt max head unit. the rms of those kappas i ordered are 55 watts rms each. think the speakers will stay clear at the max on my head unit? p.s. im not using an amp.

ya, I have them hooked to a 360 watt amp... :D

maresca- your 200 watt max powered head unit actually makes like 22 or 23 watts per channel of rms power. the speakers could handle far more than that. However, when you turn it up near the full power of the hu's internal amp it will sound awful. it will not be due to the speakers (any speakers would), but rather due to the crappy internal amp in the hu clipping an distorting.

Yeah, generally you can turn up a HU 2/3 volume before you get clipping.

hmmm ok. so now all i can do is hope theyre louder and clearer than my stock premium system. thanks

Definitely will be. All aftermarket speakers I've heard are better than the stocks, even those $30/pair cheapo speakers.

Man, that wiring is almost vulgar.

;)

Hey, speaking of extinguishers, where is a good place to mount them? Although having it it laying on the floor like that matches my nice install....
