well, are you trying to get just the parts price, or are you trying to get a 'round about price for a shop to do it?

if your just looking for the parts check out Rockauto.com i always use them. excellent service, fast shipping and also the 5% forum discount is nice to receive as well.

i am trying to get a price for a shop. my friend's neighbor just opened his shop but i was told he was really expensive. so since i have no idea about replacing this style of control arm i wanted some idea to base a price off of. thank you for your reply Xplorer82

A shop would charge you about $600-700 minimum for upper control arms. You'll need to get an alignment afterwards as well. If you're doing the uppers you should look into replacing the lower ball joints as well. It will save u down the road.

The endlink kit is a do it yourself job if u're okay with laying on ur back for 20-30 minutes. Dont even need to take the wheels off.

Shop around here quoted me $340 to do both uppers. $600-700 is absolutely nuts.

Well, 340 is not bad. I think I paid $95 for the upper arm with the joint and new bushings each side at Napa. But, doing uppers on an Ex of that year is pretty straight forward. I did mine in about an hour. And, I am a big dude and I take my time getting up and down!LOL But for an extra $140 for the labor isn't too bad! But, like said above, you will need an alignment after.

I just did upper and lower ball joints plus all five shocks - total parts bill was $375. I think the upper control arms with ball joints were $50 on the pass side and $70 on the drivers side. Passenger side upper was by far the easiest, as it's two pieces and I didn't have to take out the adjusting bolts. Drivers side upper was a good bit harder, mostly because of access to take out/put in the bolts. Lower ball joints were a total PITA - even with the heavy duty ball joint tool from Advance, a large pickle fork to bust loose the hub, and a BFH they did not want to come apart/out. Once out, however, reassembly was a breeze. I put the new lower ball joints in the freezer a couple of days before the job; I really think the shrinkage helped them slide in.

Thank everyone for you help and answers. I got the upper which is the two piece adjustable. It was super easy compared to if it was just the one piece. I bought that and the endlink bolt and Autozone for 60 dollars. It took me and my neighbor about an hour. We just sawzalled the bolt out. its was sheared of anyways. Goin do the other side this week. believe it or not the alignment is pretty good but i know still gotta put it on the machine...thanks again everyone!

If I recall correctly, I paid just under $400.00 for my replacements a short while ago. It could have been more. My memory is going with my age. :(
