Could a cut off wheel cause a fire?

Hi guys as you know I stuffed 235-75-15 under my aerostar with no rubbing issues. But I'm running empty. My rear fenderwells lips don't touch I have a finger thickness of clearance. My fronts are just there,they clear lock to lock but if my in a turn and hit a pot hole they might rub. I didn't install my lift kit yet. So I'm thinking of cutting my fender opening up an inch for breathing room or install the lift kit. I just bought a new 3" cut off air saw. I was going to by nibbles but bought the cut off grinder. What about fire. I can cut every fender lip but the drivers rear. The gas tank is in front of the wheel well. Sparks and vent fumes do you think I should worrie. I'll be doing it in the driveway with a fire exstingure but fumes scare be. The say if you hear the bang it to late. And with a plastic tank do you think a movers quilt would be enuff to cover the wheel well area for sparks.
New mig comes Thursday,I complained to Eastwood it was suppose to come Friday,they claim the computer had a glitch in there reino wear house the has 2,234 in stock and the computer sent out back order messages to all customers. They refunded my $55.00 FedEx charge.

A cut off wheel creates sparks which could ignite gasoline on the ground. Always take the proper precautions when working around a fuel tank. A multi tool might be a better option since it doesn't create sparks.

Just from what I remember from looking at your new tire post.
Take a good look to see if the front tires are rubbing the front bumper at full lock when you hit a bump.

No they don't rub what I'm a little concern about for a year I TRYED to buy front springs. And every jobber sends me the wrong spring. Before the big tires if I made a hard left turn at a light. The nose would lean down. So I was going to trim the wheel lip to give me and inch. I have a lift I bought for the front and rear but I've broken my new spring compressor trying to compress the spring. It seams the spring compressor was cast iron. Probley from lawn mower engines and it snaped the hook off and you can see the poor grain in the casting mold. The bigger tires is like night and day so smooth. I thought truck tires would give me a hard ride and they don't. The factory tires are car tires even some at tires I looked at were not rated as a truck tire. These big o big foot are toyo tires and are stamped Lt on them.

I used that to cut wood flooring and molding never thought of cutting a car fender with it. Thanks for the idea.
