Is my fuel pump bad 1999 ford explorer shoc 4.0. Lots of pictures on the replacement

Remove fuel line evap hose and wire harness on frame rail

I broke half of my evap hose clip off it broke easy hope it still works

Have the boy take the bolts off the pump

Remove pump and look in tank for sediment

It's about 8:30 kinda dark out so I am gonna finish in the morning

I've broken the evap hose lock on several tanks. I just cleaned the plastic part it slides onto and applied some dielectric grease to it. The connector fits fairly tightly. They're never come off off leaked vacuum. I've never found any dirt, rust or sediment in any of my fuel tanks. Surprising really.

Yea not much in the tank the old pump still had the ford bar code sticker date code 1998

I tapped the tank hole and then blew off everything wiped the tank down

Don't forget to put some lube on the rubber gasket it helps seat and seal better

Clean wire connector s and fuel vent hose clean the lines under truck I put some Vaseline in the fill and vent hoses and dielectric grease on the o rings inside the evap hose and fuel line o ring after cleaning everything

I cleaned the wire connector and put some dielectric grease on them for a good corrosion free connection

I put this side of the tank up in its bracket I used 2 zipties to hold it for a min

Jacked the tank up slowly and connected everything up

Get your tank strap put it in its slot
Tighten it up I little
Install bolts and rubber washers
Tighten everything up
