couple dana 35 ?s

1st gen Dana 35s are all open diffs regardless of gear ratio, correct? im not very knowledgable when it comes to diffs and gear ratios but this summer when im looking into a 3.73 or 4.10 swap in my 2dr i want to make sure i know all the options i have. i just realized that is only one question, not a 'couple' like the subject says. my bad.

All Explorer Dana 35s are open -- doesnt matter which generation it came on.
As for the ratio, I'm not sure 4.10 was available for the 1st gen, I think it was only possible on 2nd gens.

thanks for answering a question i was 95% sure on, makes me feel smart lol i need to wait a few months b4 i start thinking about changing diffs, i have too much money tied up in coils and drop brackets right now. i think though, that 3.73s would be a better choice for me as i do alot of highway driving with the vehicle even though its my 'beater'.

Pretty much the only thing you will find a 4.10 D35 TTB in is a 90-92 2.3 ranger 4x4 like I did, and don't let anyone try and tell you it's a D28/35 hybrid, hybrids didn't start till 93, a hybrid will have a smooth pig, the full D35 has a ribbed pig.

No
