I have a 2000 Explorer XLS 4.0L V6 OHV that cranks but will not turn over always. After cranking, the engine will vibrate and act as if it is trying to turn over, but won't unless I mash the gas pedal pretty deep. Would this be the fuel pump? I have no problems with stalling while the engine is running. Also, my brake light comes on and off while driving even though e-brake is fully released. Any Ideas? Thanks for any help

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread into the stock 95-01 section. If you hear the starter turning, but the engine doesn't turn, then it might have a defective starter, end gear on the starter, starter solenoid (not the starter relay but the solenoid on the starter) or a bad flex plate.

Brake light problem is due to the brake fluid being low in the master cylinder. Either you have a leak or the brakes are getting worn.
