I have a 93 Explorer and I am just having the hardest time ever installing my Crimestopper RS-999 FMTW1 remote door lock. I have been told by several people that I am supposed to be using reverse-polarity wiring. I took the kick plate off and got to the wires in the floor boards. There are a lot of them, but I weeded through and found the right ones. Then I hooked it up and ever time I hook it up the fuse blows. I don't get it. Can someone please tell me what the hell I am doing wrong. I am about to go nuts.

I forgot to mention that I tryed several other ways and those all failed. The diagram in the Crimestoppers book shows something interesting that I can't quite figure out what to make of it. Next to the master switch there are 2 grounds it looks like and also a posative lead that just goes no where. The web site shows the wiring diagram for the lock maybe someone can untangle these things for me.

Help us out here. Post the link to the diagram you are looking at so we can see what you see. Especially since I couldn't find the RS-999 FMTW1.

I had a shop hook my alarm/door locks up. I think I have the crimestopper s2000 kit. It worked fine up until a couple weeks ago, when the damn thing started going bazurk! My lights were flashing and alarm was making all kinds of noise while I was driving around! Pissed me off so freakin much so I just pulled a whole buncha fuses and now I have a pointless huge bundle of wires under my dash. POS in my opinion.

Good luck with getting the locks to work. I bought a bulldog remote start with keyless entry a while back, and I worked on hooking up the door locks for about 2 weeks, and no matter which way I tried to hook them up, they never worked. I finally just gave up on having keyless entry.
