ok, this might be really stupid, but i was thinkin about building my own muffler. the reason i want to do this, is i want the throaty, deeper sound of a flowmaster, but i dont want to make the exhaust any quieter. i was thinkin (and sometimes that can be dangerours) the reason flowmaster has a deeper sound is because it uses no fibergalss, and basically is a bunch of open chambers. what if i were to take some sheet metal about 18 inches long, shape it like a flowmaster, then weld some ends onto it, along with an inlet and outlet, and use that for a muffler? i think it would work, becasue it would be like one big open chamber, that shouldnt muffler the sound very much at all, and give me a loud throaty sound. anybody think it will work, or have i just been out in the sun too long
?
