Does putting on bigger custom wheels damage your transmission and if so does the microtuner fix that problem by calibrating the computer ecu in the truck to recognize the bigger tires and also do you have to get the gear ratio changed. I have 20 inch chrome wheels on my vehicle.

Nope. You see the outer diameter of the tire remains the same whether you have 15" rims or 20" rims, so the car has no clue because the RPM's are the same as long as the the tire outer diameter (rolling diameter) is the same

Read that little article. Its not really the diameter - its the weight. There will probably be a little more stress on your transmission and engine, but nothing harmful with 20s. Read the article and come up with your own conclusion. Hope it helps.

if your tire size with the 20s becomes bigger, then the power programmer can help by tweaking it to be best like stock... like say you have 29" tires with 15" rims... yeah they are lighter...

but say you got 20" rims now with a 32" tall tire.. well that will make things wierer for the gearing and tranny... the programmer can be tuned to get the vehicle to **** better knowing it now has 32" tires adnd is a change from the 29" tires it had.... there really isnt anything you can do about compensating for the weight
