Hey everyone, I am working on the clunking noise in my 2015 Ford Explorer.
I noticed the metal clicking/clunking? noise with the slightest turning at low speed coming from front passenger side, & just went under the car and noticed the distance from the metal bearing to the transmission wall is not the same, as photos below shown.
its ~3in from transmission to silver bearing on driver side and 3.5in on passenger side.
is that an easy fix? should I just push it in and call it a day, or just get a new one?

I recently replaced front sway bars, lower arms and struts so I don't think they are bad.

Edit: also the driver side might be slightly leaking cuz these blacks are all grease. not sure how to take care of that as well.

Edit #2: just learnt the axles are different on driver and passenger side lol. guess im just stupid.
if the CV axles are not causing the issue, what could it be? any help would be very appreciated.

Anything. If you can't find the source, pay a pro to diagnose it.

But I'd be looking at brakes, lug nuts, suspension bolts, the upper strut bearing, engine/trans mounts...

As already suggested, loose nuts/bolts: suspension, steering, engine/transmission mounts, or exhaust. Bushings: sway bar, sway bar links, suspension, engine/transmission, shocks. Failed CV joints inside the rubber accordion bushings can make clicking noises.
