My interior is the tan color and in the blazing Florida sun ( heck it was 86 F today )I experience a lot of reflected glare on the windshield ( from the tan dash top ).

Any ideas how to reduce or eleminate thiis problem?

sunglasses :) serisouly, i have tan interior too, and i dont really get that much glare, but i dont think theres much you can do about it. when i tinted my windows, there was a noticeable difference of less light in the truck in general, but i dont think i would go tinting my windows just because i want to reduce glare off the dash, unless you want your windows tinted anyway.

buy a pair of polarized sunglasses. those things are incredible. cuts 99% of glare when driving. i had some (lost them fishing when gaffing a king) and they were absoloutely wondderful. cuts glare from water very nice too. kinda pricy for the higher end glasses though. but worth every penny if you don't loose em

Gimp, thanks for a sensable answer,,, I use Zaino "Leather in a Bottle" on the dash now; looks and smells great but reflects like xrazy.

I wonder if there is a way to "dye" the tan color to a flat black color, or even if that would make any difference.

Thoughts.....

Tell ya what Mr. "It's 86 degrees and I'm complaining" :p, we'll trade locations. I'll go down to Florida and you can come up here to Michigan. I guarantee that you won't see the sun until April. Problem solved.

Seriously though, I agree with Gimp. Get some 303. This stuff is awesome.

peace

Mike

What is a Michugan? Sorry, I don't do cold,,,,

I use the ArmorAll low gloss stuff on the dash of my Wife's Firebird because it has the same glare problem. Works pretty well. Another way to reduce the glare is to buy one of the cloth dash covers. No glare whatsoever from them.

Or.....You could just paint the windshield black. No sun....No glare :D :smoke: :chug:

:D An even cheaper solution is to let the dust collect on the dash so ther wont be any more glare LOL :smoke:

I think I use Eagle Trim Protectant...ya know, the same company that sells various kinds of wheel cleaner for different kind of rims. They're very good. I really like it, no reflection on dash but you can see a little gloss on the instrument panel and the center console. I recommand it!

Well you said you wanted to paint it black right? Just go to your store thats nearest to you and pick up a can of flat black spray paint and paint away! Shouldn't take to long, either! Just get a peice of cardboard to cover the areas you don't really want to get paint on.

I am sure its more involved than using as can of flat black spray paint.

Vinyl is difficult at best to color and after "tons" of Zaino on it not sure what would ever stick to it.

Use rubbing alcohol to take the Zaino off. I'm sure it'll work.

Just use a sander to take all that crap off.

I seriously doubt that a surface sanding will rid the Zaino from it.

I plan to contact Sal Zaino and ask his opinion.

btw, are you sure that a flat black dash won't reflect back up into the windshield, too.

No, I do not know if the flat back is exactly the answer; wish I did.

Any thoughts, my friend?

Flat black will NOT reflect off the dash... that is why military fighter jets and such have a black nose!

Why not get a carpet dash cover like this one from Explorer Express for $40

LOL Surface sanding... I guess I should say use an electric sander with about 20 grit sandpaper! Or take a grinder with one of them sandpaper pads on it and go to town.

LOL As you can see I always have an answer, it may not look purty but it will function!
