Dashboard remove and replace, how hard

I have a 1997 Explorer, the dash is all cracked, I have a parts vehicle with a good dash. How hard is it to swap a dash. Is it better left to an electrical repair shop? I am pretty skilled mechanically, I just swapped out my diffs for 4.10 LS, front and rear.

it can be done. I read an on-line description of how to do it once, but while I know I can do it, it's more work than I'm willing to do. about the only thing that would make me tackle it would be a leaking heater core in the middle of winter. even then, I'd probably bypass the heater core and drive another vehicle until spring. it's a lot of work.

A real PITA, but it can be done, give yourself a couple of days.
