Hi alll;

Just moved to Vancouver, BC, from Seattle, and part of the requirements of importing my Ranger is to equip it with Daytime Running Lights. I've searched and searched for information on this and even stopped by a Ford dealer, but I cannot figure out what I am looking for on my truck -- I don't know if it's already equipped with DRL, or if it's even got the right harness for me to plug the module in. The "drawing" that the Ford parts guy printed out for me is pretty crude and honestly doesn't even look like the wiring harness in my truck. I was also told that Canadian models were different from American models, and that depending on what state my truck was "built for" could affect the location of the module itself.

Can anyone help?? I don't want to drop a hundred dollars just to get a "yes it's installed" or "no you're screwed." Just what am I looking for here??

I'm driving a 2002 Ranger Supercab XLT (V6, stick, 2WD).

Thanks,

... Tod

Check out the 2004 models. Some of them were equiped with DRL and you may be able to find out more that way but be aware that there were some electrical redesigns for 04 and it may not be compatable.

I didn't know daytime running lights were required as long as your headlights work. Especially if the car is not equiped with them. Not in Ontario any ways.

if it was built after 92 I think it's required. it'd be a module on your rad support, on the bottom, on the driver's side....large plug entering it...about 8-10 wire I belive...you can scab somthing up to turn the lights on with a relay and constant power switched to they key...

There are cheap, universal kits that do this. You can probably get them at JcWhitney or the like.
