Dealership.... service.... seriously ?

hey guys!

Just took my truck in to the dealership to have her checked out for an intermittant misfire...

I thought it was the plugs... so i replaced the side i could get to... yea those things were BUSTED... even the wire-side tips were black.... BUT

The dealership says "your computer is throwing out all types of mass air flow sensor codes".... insisting that i replace the mass air flow sensor...


would a mass air flow sensor throw my truck into a random misfire/cut off pattern ? (completely random and out of the blue albeit)

I'm guessing it's the plugs. I had the same problem with the mass airflow code also, and replacing the plugs fixed it and got rid of the code. I don't know why, but with mine it was just the plugs:dunno:

However, the mass airflow going bad could cause it. It will cause it to lean out sometimes, causing misfires.
 






Replace all the plugs, clear the codes (after you record them), and see if you get the codes back. Your dealer should know to do that.
