I just installed a Procomp long add a leaf and don't like the ride (harsh) I have heard nothing but good things about Deaver leaves but they don't currently list a part number for explorers on there site. Anyone know what part number might be a good fit for approx two inch lift since I plan to keep my shackles?

I have heard many mixed results with Deaver springs. They also farm out a lot of their jobs to other spring makers. I suggest giving National Spring a try. They have done a bunch of Explorers for people I know and they last forever.

I know a guy who just put the Deaver's on his Bronco from Bronco Graveyard (J40) and he says it was the best mod he has done. I don't think those will work though I heard they are 3" wide.

I will check out national though, thanks

My deavers are currently in the second explorer in 5 years, and a buddies set is in the fifth truck. They are great springs, no loss of arc or ride in either set. Call Deaver, bet the ranger set and explorer set are pretty close, and Im sure theyll build you a set. A friend just had them custom wind a set of progressive front coils.

..The Ranger and Explorer leafs are different at the center pin hole length..;)

I contacted Deaver and they quoted $750 for two leaf packs and didn't give any details about them. That is far more that I can justify at least for now. I know the Bronco leaves that I mentioned in the above post are priced at $549 from Bronco Graveyard.

I checked national and their pricing says $695

Sounds like I will just have to live with what I have for the time being.

That is good to know, I never thought to measure. I have some old ranger leaves and was thinking of combing the two packs to make something better.

Search on here for a thread by BKennedy on leaf packs or you might ask him...

He built a nice set within the last two years that haven't sagged...Most complaints about the above mentioned packs are that they start sagging within months of purchase or the spring rate was to soft.

He directed me to National Spring in the first response. I just can't justify the cost.

It looks like the part number I need is the G50E, just need to find a great deal on them.

I had forgotten about reading through that thread before. I should have done that rather than waste money on the AAL. My main concern is getting rid of the harshness that the AAL added, my front coils are BDS 6" Ranger coils and they are perfect with Bilstein 5125s. They rear was always a little more firm but now it is really noticeable. I also installed Superlift shocks in the rear should I be blaming those for the stiff ride?
