i was putting back on my rear window when the coper connector for the defrost poped off the window, how do i put it back on? can i just solder it back?
Be careful soldering. If you don't know what you are doing you could shatter the window. I prefer to glue them back on with the proper product. Here's a site that has good info and products: http://www.frostfighter.com/
Indeed, soldering it to tempered glass is not a good proposition. I've only seen it done successfully once before. The other attempts ended badly.
I've seen electrically conductive epoxy for that at the chain stores. Also, IIRC, there is a TSB for that sort of repair, though I don't have the details offhand. Contact a body shop supply house if you can't find anything else out there. They should have something available.
Thanks for all of this information. It sounds like I have been saved the trouble of soldering my defrost tab back on.
One more questions about the adhesive, before applying adhesive to remount defrost tab to rear glass, what is the best way to remove original solder from glass to ensure good connection?
