99 4.0L V6
so i think it might be time for me to update the shocks on the truck. i have a 99 4x4 4.0L V6 EB edition. I have been hearing many things on the forum about the bilstein and the edelbrock....kind of a hard decision regarding which to choose. i fee like i am leaning towards the bilsteins more now though since my brother has been using them and on his car they are superb. after talking to the bilstein operator about the shocks she offered up the idea that if i have an AIR LEVELING suspension, they will not work....anyone have any input on this? i havent been able see if this will affect me.

will these be compatible with my truck?

Sooo do you have the self leveling suspension or not?

thats what i am trying to find out, i dont know if i do or not. couldnt find much on the internet about if it either....do you know how i can check?

wouldn't there be an additional line or 2 connecting to each shock with the air leveling suspension?

without it, there wouldn't be anything connected to the shocks.

I thought the self-leveling is only on the Limited model?? If regular shocks I can recommend the Monroe Reflex.

I had Monroe Sensatrac on my last Ex, they were good. I have the Monroe Reflex on this one and I like them better. I looked at the Bilsteins, but didn't want to spend that much $ on shocks since they were a bit stiffer and harder riding than what I think I wanted. I didn't want buyers remorse. :)

You should have lines running to your shocks if you have leveling. Do you have an XLT, Eddie Bauer, Limited...?

You can remove and replace your air shocks (if you have them) with non-air shocks, you will just lose the air leveling (obviously)

Monroe Reflex are excellent, Edelbrock IAS suck donkey balls had two different sets, horrible shocks.
