Does anyone know if the manual hubs on Explorers or rRangers were ever Warn, with the Warn name on them instead of the 4x4 label?

I just picked up a set of locking hubs off a 91 Ranger and was happy to walk away with them since on the locking portion they said Warn instead of 4x4.

I don't recall ever seeing this on a Ranger or Explorer before.

I have never seen stock hubs that said Warn. They either said 4x4 or Ford.

Jack, glad you found some. Now I don't feel so bad for teasing you with a pic of my spare set!;)
Did you get them for a good price?

I have heard rumors before ever joining this forum that the ford's were built by Warn but both Warn and Ford have always denied it. If you take the two apart side by side, they are very close.

Edit: I just remembered that Ford's housing most of the time was plastic where my Warn's are metal. My buddy has the Ford plastic hubs and has yet to break one. He wheels as hard as I do.

Yep. Maybe I can even get them warranteed if they break!! I mean who's gonna know.

Yards around here were quoting me 65-75 for just one hub. I got these for 45 each.

Here is a picture of the Warn next to a stock hub.
