Sat X started leaking some coolant late night. morning was going to fix early but calling for few hrs finally found a radiator from autozone warehouse. drove 50 miles one way to get part. after getting home took out the radiator then replaced with new one. after 2.5 hrs of working on it turned it on and the thing is leaking out of the two transmission lines that go into the d-side of the radiator. The reason they are leaking is the oem lines do not have anything to press up against when the nut is being tightened into the radiator. I check the old one..yup presses right up against the brass fittings to have a tight seal. So did i get hosed or what? tried to take off the brass fittings of the old one and put on new one too big. Wonder if this radiator is missing two brass fittings or something? any ideas guys? :fire:

Ordered one from radiatorbarnfor 175 shipped. Wow saved some money vs autozone 315. hopefully i could get the x back on the road tomorrow. btw any know what tranny fluid i should use.. the stuff that came out was red.

It will say on your transmission dipstick which fluid to use, but I am guessing its mercon :)

If you have a V6 Explorer it's Mercon V

V8 Explorer it's regular Mercon.

All the radiators that I have ever ordered come with 2 different sized sets of cooler line fittings.
