diesel ranger Q's?

Hi folks;
I just found an '83 ranger with the diesel motor. I have an 85 4x4 ranger with a junk motor and trans. I am wondering if I should put the diesel in the 4x4 or not? I think it would be a pretty good wheeler.

Make sure the diesel is in good shape. and make sure you can find repair parts for the motor if it goes bad. Does the diesel use the same bolt pattern to tranny as the gas one. I would drive the diesel one before you decide to do the swap. I doubt it has a turbo and may be super lacking in the power department.

I'm looking for one, but would like to speed the search, however possible.
