I have a Pioneer hu. There is a wire (orange, I think)that when hooked up will automatically dim the display when the lights are turned on. My question is, if I hooked that wire to the dimmer switch for the interior lights, would I then have control of the brightness of the display? Has anyone done this? I don't want to fry anything.

I've done it. My Pioneer has the Organic display, and it dims, but probably not the way you're thinking. When the instrument lights turn on, the display does change intensity. However, it doesn't change intensity depending on how bright or dim you set your instrument lights. It only goes dims to whatever level you pre-set it to.

Woody is right. That stock dimmer switch will proportionally dim certain HUs like it did the stock HU, but the Pioneer HUs only have 1 dim setting and 1 regular setting. I like mine at 5 and 11 I believe.
