DIY Rebuilt 4R70W has no endplay

Have you filled the trans fully with fluid, how much did you put in to start with, and in total? It should need about 6-7 quarts to initially fill the pan etc, and then another six maybe to get it completely filled. Don't put it in gear until you have put most of the ATF in, it should begin to show on the dipstick before first putting it in gear. Then you move it through all gears, stopping in each briefly.

You keep checking the fluid until it stops dropping, before the first test drive. Then you check the fluid again, and again on level ground, to be sure it is full. Hopefully you just don't have enough ATF in it.
In the transmission it zelf I put in 6 quarts in total and the 4x4 transfer case took 2 or 3 quarts. Other dip stick I can clearly see the transmission fluid. I thought this would be really simple (installing the 4x4 transfer case). I find this al really odd because if the transmission is in neutral the output shaft should spin freely.

The 4R70W takes about 12 quarts of fluid in total, like the AOD and AODE. If you just put it together after being apart, TC dry, it will require a bunch of ATF. The TC needs a quart before installing, almost two will fit. Then when installed, the trans will take about six before starting the engine. Then you add more as it runs, before putting it in gear.

Checking the dipstick is tricky. Check both sides of the dipstick, wipe it every time before putting it back in. Pay attention to which way is easier to read the dipstick. Often one way will show extra fluid on it, and the other will be cleaner with a lower level. Go by the side with the lower level, and then only check it that way for most accuracy. You have to check the level many many times, many many. Keep checking it and add ATF until the level is at the high mark, when running and warmed up.
