hi, i have a 97 V8 AWD eddie bauer i just purchased and i can't seem to figure out if i have a factory tranny cooler on it. i see the power steering cooler, but no tranny cooler. maybe i am just missing it. if i do have a tranny cooler are the factory ones any good? the vehicle has 95,000 on it and runs very nice, love the 4r70w tranny. ...

Are tranny coolers easy to install. i have some mechanical knoledge(i.e. brakes, converted hubs over, tranny filter and alternators, starters). Can i tackle a job of installin a tranny cooler .

Thanks for the input and help

The factory trany cooler is located in front of the radiator, on the passenger side of the truck. Can't miss it.

I found the factory cooler on mine to do a great job ( I monitor tranny fluid temp ), but sinve I often tow a Jeep on a large trailer in the hot Florida weather, I added an auxillary cooler. Its installation is simple.

Good luck.....

Are they in the same place on the 95 sports

I was wondering the same thing about my 96 2dr Sport. There is a small radiator thing behind and below my radiator in the center of the vehicle but did not know if that was the transmission cooler or not. The connections run to a junction point where other cooling lines go. Just not sure.

If this is the cooler, it is not very big at all, only about 4"x12".

Does anyone know?

Thanks

The small cooler below the radiator is the power steering cooler. Take a look at where the hoses from it go.
