Hello everyone. I have never posted on this site before but i have been a member for a while now. I look on here just about everyday to see what you guys are talking about and for tips on upkeep and good mods for my 1999 limited 5.0 EX with 177,000 miles. Well this is whats going on... i put a used engine in it about a year ago cause the last one overheated and I cracked both heads. Since then the truck has fallin apart, but i love it so i keep fixin it. I had to replace the rear end, master cylinder, all four shocks, door locks, the egr valve, the ac stopped working and the drivers side window came off track and now my mechanic says that i have low oil pressure so i need a new engine. the compression test came out fine and i dont hear any funny sounds or smoke coming from the engine. I do hear a funny sound sumtimes when i first start it up in the morning. its a slight knocking sound that goes away once its running and if i turn it off and start it again it goes away. Also, my oil pressure gauge goes crazy all the time now. I dont wanna replace the engine again but i already started buying mods so i don't wanna waste them. Has anyone experienced this? Any suggestions?

There are a lot of engine swap threads on here. If you have the know how then I say go for the swap.

Well you may need a new oil pump if your's has gotten weak, But a new motor sounds a little over kill if everything else is okay.
