I have 194,100 miles on my 2000 SOHC Exploder.
I have had check engine lean codes coming on for the last year, also my coolant bubbles sometimes intermittently. The Ford dealership out here just told me I most likely have blown head gaskets, resulting in the lean codes and power loss.
I would like to go with steel gaskets because I have a supercharger ready to go onto the engine, however at this point with those miles I feel like I need to do a full rebuild.
I thought about getting one of these rebuild kits: sohc rebuild kit 4.0 explorer 2000 | eBay, however I want to force induct higher than 5.5-6psi (RP Caster's kit).
SO, my question is, whats the word on these rebuild kits? Are they worth it or should I just go ahead and upgrade everything. What do I need to upgrade to maximize the boost on that particular block? is 14-15psi an option with the correct upgrades?
