Do you get kinda nervous with 20" etc...

if they catch you doing this they will make you pay full price for the things and you will be fired. if you are going to do illegal business try not to do it quite so blatantly on the site here, shoot some emails, make some money, but be a little more careful. i was caught doing the same thing your talking about and i was plenty more careful than you are being. just a little warning, but as someone whos been down this road before i know that things can get crappy in a hurry.

also, if i'm not mistaken (an i'm not since i sold car audio) the retail price of the alarms included basic installation as sort of a trick to get people to have the stuff installed at best buy (which in general means cobbled together worse than a first time installer in his basement) but what that also means is that if you go in there and buy an alarm on discount and don't have it installed at that best buy it will raise quite a red flag and will piss off your managers (because the service plan and installation numbers will be bad for that day which looks bad on them) and it just might piss them off enough that they initiate an investigation into your purchases... i can't say exactly what happened with me getting caught, because everything still isn't reallyon the table, but i was very, very careful about the way i did things and it still in the end didn't work.

Expo... I think I am gonna follow, that little peice of information thats in your profile :D

Road Enforcer....... and anyone else for that matter.... Expo5.0 is right.... i work at a shop right next door to kragens..... the kragens people are actually like coworkers to me... if i told their managers or any other employees what i know goes on at the store with "kragen employee discounts" i would no longer get cheap parts and may end up getting friends of mine prosecuted.... knowledge is power... just dont talk about what you know

Black Magic...
I'm actually a Sales Manager here at a Best Buy in Chicago... You never know who is watching. I've seen way too many good people lose their jobs over something so trivial. It's cool that you want to help someone out, but you need to respect the policies of the company that helps pay your bills. Don't be so blatantly stupid.

Well, where to start?

expo5.0

Thanks, I appericate your concern. I bet you were cought because you were TOO CAREFUL. When you start looking all arround trying to be careful is when you get cought. And you must not have been doing very good for the store if you were fired for something like that anyway. The Managers like their Non-Commision Sales based Bonuses and little tripes arround the country for being Producers. As for Service Numbers, I move the entire store when I work. Working there is only fun for me anyway.
---Now for the tech's at my store. They are ALL Top Shelf installers. They do a job that can shame Ultimate Electronic, Hi-Fi Audio, High end Car Audio Shops. I wouldn't even count Circuit City or Audio Express in that either, I would rather have a 6yr old install my stuff. Once again, I understand you concerns and appericate your LOVE!

RoadEnforcer LOL

RoadEnforcer Hey, you didn't ask me any Life Style Questions! Thanks for your concern as well. Don't worry about my bills, Best Buy doesn't pay them, for sure! LOL Just a 4 hour a week job that has a nice discount. I have been there for over five years seen more Managers come and go than you could shake a PSP at.

OK, My Official Statement is:
Due to the concerns of everyone here I will not be able to help anyone with thier X's. So the Retail industry can get fatter and fatter. :( :thumbdwn:

EVERYONE REALLY NEEDS TO VISIT THAT SITE AND SPEND SOME QUALITY TIME READING THINGS THERE!

That was really funny. Then as I was reading I though that they were in my store. W:eek:W I guess all the stores are the same! I am going back to see what the customers say.

Black Magic,

I'm not coming down on you or anything...I'm sorry if it sounded like it. Just making sure that you don't get into trouble over something so trivial.

As for BestBuySux.org...I'll be the first to admit that some things that happen in the company DO suck, and a lot of the people ARE a--holes, but that doesn't change the fact that it is my career. I love my job and the people that I work with, so be nice. :)

I can say that I am truly saddened by what I read from the customer posts. I did not see any that refered to my store, but I did see a few stores in my district.

Here's my deal. I started at the store that I am with now when I was in college. I have worked part-time off and on since. I have worked from 40+ hours a week to just the current 4-6 hours a week now. When I work I actually help the customers find what they need and fits their needs. I do not sell them anything I would not buy or have not bought. I beleve in the service plan and the correct power protection. I do not "Walk" customers. Pretty much all of my customers take advantage of the service plan. I really feel sick by what I read there. I hope that everyone takes thier job seriously and partners with the customer and not the MAN. In the end if you are commission it pays better! You will not piss off people and have mad returns.
Oh, I am NOT commission. However, My managers are! Huh, TeamXPLO?

I thought I heard 'blackjack' somewhere :D

You guys may live NEAR bad areas, but I actually live IN one. My neighborhood is the third worst in the county and it's only 5 blocks long! I'm the 'minority' here....

I have always been careful about watching who's where when I exit my truck and making a big show of arming it, so that the local >ahem< 'homies' know I mean business, especially since that young girl and her friends got shot in a drive by on my front steps last year

No matter how loud my neighbors crank their rap, or how many of their ricer buddies slam their doors into mine, I can't do crap because it would probably mean a new paint job for me :( Being the hopeful Sheriff's Office candidate that I am, it really hurts that the stationhouse up the street just laughs at me when I file a complaint (believe me, that'll change when I get in!)

Anyway, the moral of my sad story is: I'm damn near broke from all the recent mods-is there an affordable system out there (I still have my Best Buy and Circuit City cards, lol) that works well? I need something a little better than my alarm, which consists of what Ford put in it and my little sign that reads "IS THERE LIFE AFTER DEATH? MESS WITH MY TRUCK AND YOU'LL FIND OUT!!!!" ;)

I'm really worried about what's gonna happen after I get my subs in, although I'm pretty sure that the majority of my neighbors are FAR too stupid to know how to break into an Explorer ;)

BTW, My explorer is MY WORLD...if i'm ever in a position that would mean I'd have to give up my key to a carjacker, he'd have to pry it out of my stomach cuz I'll swallow the friggin' thing before I let anybody have the ride that I work so hard for!!!!! (Same goes for my engagement ring!)

Hey man nothing rude, but the Explorer you have I don't think people are going to want to steal the thing that bad. There are much nicer rides out there for people to steal. I think your over reacting. Yea, you have a nice ride, but you are way over re-acting. Just watch where you park.

Its whats in the car, that he is prob worried about and what I am worried about also. I am not too worried about someone driving away with my x. I am worried about someone breaking my window and stealing my box, head unit. You can't really help where you [park if the area that the parking lot is in is bad, and you cant help it.

The wasy I see it, is if anyone wants it bad enough, they will take it. I've had every kind of stereo and stuff in my car, like hydraulics, 12 10's, tv's, all the stuff. I have never had a break in, and hopefully never will. Like 90bluegt said, just watch where you park. Alot of people like those pagers with the alarm so if your alarm goes off, it pages you. It works up to some crazy amount of yards. but if you think about it, by the time you get to the car from where ever you were, they are gone. I have always had a regular viper alarm with the remote start and windows, but I also put airhorns on, so if the alarm goes off, it's not just a normal siren. Also think about a proxemity (sp) sensor. It will go off when someone walks too close......

just my 2 cents

I personally hate car alarms, I don't believe they do any good these days. I mean common, when was the last time you even glanced over at a car alarm going off? Explorer4u2c is right, if someone wants it, they'll get it, not to mention, disabling an alarm takes, oh, less than 10 secs total for any thief who knows his ass from his elbow but most don't even bother nowadays since alarms to actually alarm anyone, they're always accendentally going off. Hell I set 'em off with my truck when I drive by 'em. Don't leave it at train stations, don't leave it in sketchy neighborhoods etc, etc. They'll brake into your car weather you have a ton of gadgets or not. All in all, car alarms are just a nuecence to society.
