i find out how much mileage i get once in a while. that's about it. keep a log? nah... who's got time for that? ;)

I sure do!! I have a Pocket PC with Excel installed so I don't have to do any calculations (gotta love Excel!!!). Here's my collected data since 7/10/01:

Total Fuel Used (gal): 3016.123

Total Fuel Used ($): $3,929.01

Average MPG: 16.12

Max MPG: 18.31

Min MPG: 14.02

Max Gasoline Price/Gal: 1.619

Min Gasoline Price/Gal: 0.939

Miles Tallied: 48,684

Last time I filled up was 10/26/03. Yeah...I haven't driven my baby for a week and a half already!! :(

"No, My rig gets terrible milage and I dont want to know it"

I just chose this one cause i dont really bother to check it, I know its prety bad. Also there was no option that said "my ass is broke and cant ever afford a full tank"

I think mine gets like 13 mpg highway now...but the SAS is worth it. :D

I started keeping track when I got my new X in April. It ended up being tedious and I fell behind and said screw it. I do figure out my mileage each time I fill up I just don't write it down.

For a while, I was keeping excellent track of the miles per fill up and gas prices.. But I didn't need a notebook..

There is a web site out there to do this... They even has a list of the gas prices around town...

Since I live in Tucson, I use www.tucsongasprices.com

You can go to http://www.tucsongasprices.com and on the left side is a place where you can choose other states/metro areas...

If you join the site, you get a log book where you can put in the # of gallons, price and miles, and it keeps a log book for you...

I can totally relate to being broke and not being able to fill it up. I like my Sport better because of the smaller tank. $10 seems to fill up so much more, though I blow through it like nothing. Only when I'm feeling giddy will I fill the whole thing.

wow talk about a ton of cash on fuel, lol although im sure that got you about 50,000 miles, but its amazing how much gas adds up to over a period of time:eek:

You guys scare me with the stats, but I'll be drawn into that shortly. heh
I usually get a receipt (always debit card it) and record mileage but I dont log it... I log a lot and will incorporate it as soon as I get my lap top, since my PC is pretty toasted at the moment.
I think I'm averaging ~13, running 93Octane due to the Apten burn in. I do leadfoot it, and hate to burn time on the road, so I'm not real concerned with mileage until my financial status changes, which hopefully isnt any time soon. I'm not a gas hog, but not a conservative either and am even contemplating a car to drive and save the 4x4 for trails, kayak trips and winters. We'll see if that plan goes into effect though.

Haha...it scares me too. But what can ya do about it?? When it's gotta eat, it's gotta eat, ya know?

Well.. most of the time I average 20+ MPG on highways in both my explorers. My 93 X sometimes get 18, 19 whenever I drive intowns. My 93 averages about 360 miles out of the tank. My 97 average about 450 out of the tank. The 93 has 19 gal tank and the ohter is 21 gal tank.

My ex-jeep cherokee I drove long time ago with carbureted inline 6 I averaged 13 mpg with 20 gallon tank... the more it drink gas the more $$ I spent on it. So I got my X and love it.

"No" It uses alot and I put in alot. All I know as far as gas mileage goes on my explorer is that It uses every thing I put in into it.:)

Since a few posts ago (11/20), I got on the bandwagon and have been recording mileage.
Results: (pleasantly surprised)
Average= 15.19mpg ! :)
Best= 18.03mpg
Worst= 11.06mpg

I finally filled up the X and tested it out. I got about 16 mpg on the highway in my 98 Sport running about 3000 rpm for 2.5 hours. My old 93 was only getting about 280-300 miles per tank...My Sport maybe gets about 250 per tank, haven't really checked out the limits on that. My dad drove my old X for a while and got like 17 mpg out of it, much better than what my lead foot could get.

i always figure the mileage out, at every fillup. all i do with the information is keep it in my head, and get depressed about it.

i hit the trip meter when i fill up its about 1000km to a tank in the city and about 1400 1600 on the highway depends on how much crap im hauling also i have a 200litre tank

A little more than sometimes.

It's one of the best indicators that something is starting to go a foul before it does!

I always keep track of my milage! For gas milage and for everything else I do to my vehicles! I can see when the last time I tuned it up or replaced a part! I sometimes write the milage down when I park at home to keep as "EVIDENCE" when one of the kids will say " I am just going to JOEs house down the road" and they come back with 50 miles on the vehicle!!!:rolleyes:
