I just watch the trip counter resetting it at each fill up and as long as I am close to the same number every time I don't pay much attention. My '94 will get to the 300 mile mark before I need to fill up and my '00 will go to the 320 mile mark before fill up.

i reset my trip odometer at every fill up, kind of depressing though, when my all time high is 15.4 mpg

I was keeping track up until the other day when I fixed my gas gauge, now I just pray it's accurate and I fill up at E.

Oops, sorry to post back again so soon, accidently sent ^^;. I get about 14 mpg, which i better then the 9mpg I was getting ina beat up old f-150... But when I'm speeding (which I usually am) I get about 10-12... It is indeed depressing at the gas station.

I keep track of my mileage. Every receipt I get from the gas station I write what my trip meter says on the back of it. I get around 16.5 MPG, which is half-time on highway.

I kept track of the mileage when I first bought the Explorer. It ranged from 19 city to 21 highway, exactly what the EPA estimates were. Now, I relate the gallons needed for a fillup, to the trip odometer miles, and do a mental calculation of mpg. It holds fairly steady at around 20 mpg. I can live with that, considering the roominess and fun of driving my Sport. :burnout:

Diligently

Since the day I bought it with 69k on it.

I have all my reciepts too (except gas, that would be more than a foot thick), tires, alignment, brakes, AC, everything, but I'm afraid to add it all up.

After the completion of the performance mods and the switch to Amsoil, it's driving better than the day I bought it. :burnout: :bounce: :burnout: :D

I write the trip meter mileage on my receipt every fill up. Recently I've been getting around 14mpg whereas last year I was getting 17mpg. Maybe as the gas prices rise more alcohol is going into the gas

I get curious once in a while, and figure it up.
