Hi, and I'm sorry you had to disable the alarm. After reading all the threads I was just wondering if you ever replaced the battery in the remote control? Maybe a stupid question but hey :-)
For the moment I have a problem with my fuel pump or the electrical system running the fuel pump, but thats another thread.
I read in one of your replies that when you turned the ignition on you could hear the fuel pump for about 2 sec. The thing is, if the anti-theft system is engaged you will not hear the fuel pump running before you push the remote control once.

Step 1 (with anti-theft system engaged) - Turn the key to ignite position. All lights in the dashboard should come on, but you will not hear any fuel pump running. The red anti-theft light will be steady red.

Step 2 - Push the button on the remote control, the red anti-theft light will come off and you will hear the fuel pump cycle a second or two.

Step 3 - Start you car :-)

So, did you really change the battery in your remote control?

I could have helped you with this issue if I had known of it earlier.

The Bosch system was installed on european Explorers from 1995-1997 and the remote has one black button and one red LED.

It's connected to the fuel pump, PCM relay and anti theft relay, ie wired in really well.

If you want to program a new remote, you have to request the security code, (they call it pats code) from Ford in great britain. Your code is a 4 digit number that you enter into the car via the ignition key. When the code has been entered you can actually start the car w/o the remote. After you have started the car, you fiddle some more with the ignition and then it's ready to accept a new remote.

The partnumber for the Bosch remote is F42Z-15K601-A. I did a writeup on how to program new transmitters. It's written in swedish, but I think google can help

http://www.grufmanbil.se/mektips/bosch_immobiliser.pdf

I've done some reprogramming of these transmitters and its a pain in the but. The alarm is very sensitive in regards to timing, ie how many seconds you have to wait between each key-flip with the ignition...

soesbabe, you can email me at fredrik - at - grufmanbil.se if you need any help
