i was downtown the other night and heard some soundstreams in the back of a truck and it was really loud. the guy just said they were soundstreams but not what type of sub they were. he said they were 15s but they make two different 15s.

is soundstream a good company to get subs from? thinking about changing my 15s and want to know if soundstream should be an option or not.

My roomate last year had a little soundstream amp hooked up to 3 Alpine 12" Rs, and it sounded pretty good. He kept saying that soundstream was a division of PPI, but I dont know for sure :)

"back in the day", i had 2 Soundstream SPL 15's. at the time (about 6 years ago), they were friggin awesome. i replaced 3 JL 12's with them, and on certain tunes they would blow the back glass open. cant say i know anything of their new stuff, but their old stuff was very reliable/high quality. dont take my word for it though; things change.

the guy i was talking to said they were a division of alpine, but i don't think he's right, he looked kind of "hicish" don't want to offend any hics though

I used to have a Soundstream setup in my old Nissan truck. They made some awesome stuff, some of the best back in the day (about a decade ago). I've heard that they just aren't quite as good any more. There are many good brands out there now, try some others.

Edit: Man I can't type today...
