Does anyone know what this part is? Where to get it?

I am wondering if anyone knows what this part would be called. I have been looking for this part for awhile but had not ever seen one actually installed. It is a system that tells the gas milage and other information, system checks etc. I work at a ford dealership and a used mountainer came in and it actually had the part. I drive a 2000 Ford Explorer Sport.

it's referred to as the "message center" Easiest way to get one is find one in a junk yard, or off ebay. Since you have a 2000, you will need one from a 98-00 explorer. The install is long and difficult, but has been done by a few people(it's not as easy as just plug and play). Search on here for a write up on how to do it.

overhead console only has temp and a compass in it.

Yea, I have come to the conclusion to calc gas milage other ways haha

Maybe it was a scangauge. Scangauge (now Scangauge II) can show you MPG and lots of other things...

I think there is a review of it (the orig scangauge which looks physicall bigger than the newer one) in the review section of this site..
