Okay, you guys were right on.
I do have a leak.
I did as per the A/C Pro video and added some of it. The pressure went up and the compressor clutch kicked in and the compressor came on. It then cycled in approx 2-3 second intervals and I could see that it came on at just below 25 lbs (call it 22 lbs). I kept adding the freon but it never blew anything but warm air and there's clearly a leak somewhere.
But at least I now know that the compressor clutch is working. And exactly what the problem is.
Not that it's all that much use since until I locate the leak I still have no AC. It's really hot in NJ right now but it'll likely be cooling down before too much longer and I'll have all winter to work on this little problem.
