my 04 sometimes makes a low pitch whining noise that comes thru the speakers with the radio off and increases or decreases with the engine prm ...is this an alternater issue ?

Me too. Maybe it's the location of the speaker wiring? Do you have an amp connected? Try a capacitor across the power wiring on the alternator, and the stereo.

no amp in mine brooklyn .... shes box stock ....its still under warrenty so ill just take it to the dealer ..thanks though .

Mine did that, but it was a bad ground. Fixing the ground made it go away.
