A couple of you guys mentioned that an X with 20's, altezza's and chrome grills aren't enthusiasts they are "just streeters". What the hell! Only owner's with lifted X's can be enthusiasts? I thinks that anyone that loves their X like their own child is an enthusiast!!! Man... you guys have some things to learn about X ownership.

I live in a city where every Friday night revolves around cruising, and seeing who has the biggest rims. There are people out there who drive the bling bling Escalades, H2s, etc (and Explorers) who care about their vehicle. However, the majority of these people don't really care about their vehicle, they only care about the rims and the subs, etc.

It's a safe assumption to say that the majority of "street" Exs I see driving around do not qualify as Explorer enthusiasts, merely enthusiasts of the cruising scene.

Also note that I put "street" in quotes because the Explorers I talk about are solely the Exs with rims, tint, subs, and nothing else. If you find an Ex like Black Magic (just for example) that has put a LOT of effort in, then it is a true street Explorer.

True, I'll give you that one. But there are a lot of guys on this site who do a lot of engine mods to their X's who don't have them lifted. And there also a lot of guys on the site who have very big lifted X's without doing anything to the motor. So it goes both ways.

Friend used to have a lifted first gen. I havent seen a lifted X since he sold his 3 yrs ago... Strange thing is I live in a pretty large city and its close to moab... Lotta j**ps though

I saw a lifted 2nd Gen white sport on either 33s or 35s at Hofstra (where I work) a couple of months ago, but it was like seeing a Yeti, I looked up, it was across the parking lot and behind a building before I could get a good look at it. Other than that, mainly guys on 20s and a grill guard.

there's a 91-92? down the street from my house with a rancho 2.5 lift and a set of 32's. I've never seen the guy, but I see his truck when I go for a walk every now and then... makes me wish I had my sport running.

i live in rio rancho(albuquerque),NM and i have never seen another lifted explorer. everyone thinks its crazy that i have one that is lifted with mods. People always look at me all crazy in disbelief when i am driving.

The only mod I've seen on other X's in town is just Bridgestone Dueller AT Revos in the stock size. That's it. I'm think I'm the only one with clear corners on an X in my town.

yes and no.
If you expand it to lifted Rangers, Bronco II's and Explorers (of all years) then there are a ton here in Denver!

I would say we have a large number of Explorer off road enthusiasts here in CO, I have seen probably 20 or so in the last few years, with about 8 or nine being a common spot in my daily routine..

Jeeps take the cake around here, tehre must be 7,000 lifted late model Wranglers in Littleton alone....

okay, there are 2 with clear corners in my town...but i was the first. the other is a HS punk that likes to steal my ****...literally and figuratively. he stole my spare one night.

no.

1) i have never been a fighter.
2) i wouldnt want him to really mess something up and i have several extra spares anyways (although i cant put them underneath because he cut the line)
3) (and most important) he is under 18, and i am over 18.==big problems with the law.

but i did expose him when he showed up on the site and i refuse to give him any more help on his ex. he hasnt shown back up on the site since.

I have not seen any hooked up (dropped or lifted) X's around me ever. I have only seen young kids in 1st gen's w/ Black outs or systems but that is as fare as they have gone.

There's a lifted Green one running around my side of NW Houston, but he's not a member here. I'm not sure if he wheels it much.
Then a few weeks back, I discovered a Lifted Blue 92 Sport at a Park-N-Sell lot on the North side. They had it listed for $9k. I think they are smokin crack on that price.

Yeah, I get lots of stares/looks when driving the Sport Trac around. That's if they recognize it as a Sport Trac. I've had people tell me they thought it was an F-150.

Also the picture was taken at Silverado Canyon just on the side of the road because the gate at the end was closed.
