Dome light bulb

Were can i find the stock bulbs for a 2000 explorer xlt? Ive checked autozone/walmart and they dont seem to carry the bulbs, atleast my local ones don't. i was originally looking for blue replacements, but now i cant even find stock to replace the one blown bulb.

Are you talking about the "bullet" bulbs in the front overhead console?

My Walmart had them. But, the book had the incorrect bulb listed for them, I just carried one in and matched it up visually, worked fine. I think I still have the package for the bulb number. I pulled some out of a wreck on Saturday, and they were twist-ins and those worked too. I can grab the part number for those if you like.

Compatable part numbers would be very helpfull, another thing, is there a trick to taking them in and out? i took one out like you did to take into autozone, they didnt have anything, and when i put it back in it didnt work.

here's a link to a site I use often. good products. If you notice, even they just call them "Dome Lights". That type of bulb is rarely if ever used for anything else.

There shouldn't be a trick, just maybe give her a few spins to make sure u get contact.
