Dome light staying on question

Hi All,

Sometimes when starting my 2007 Explorer XLT (and sometimes) driving the dome lights come on and stay on. In order to get them off, I sometimes have to jiggle/slowly push in/pull key out slightly for the lights to go out. It seems to be random on when it does/doesn't happen. I have not seen the door ajar light come on at the same time, so not sure if that sensor is the problem after trying to research similar problems people have had. Any ideas?

As the ignition cylinder starts to wear you get some play in it that could trigger the light.

By design, the interior lights come on when ignition is turned off, even if no doors get opened. Try it next time u in the truck. As the switch seas out, it can improperly activate the lights
