Dome light stays on BUT no door ajar

Hello all. I know dome lights staying on often comes with bad door latch sensors but that is not this case. The door ajar light does not light, the doors lock and unlock ok. I did take the driver door apart and the latch sensor is ok. I tested the number 17 delayed acc fuse on driver side, the 60amp number 6 fuse in the power distribution box and the 30amp delayed acc fuse behind the box.
Any suggestions?

You've confirmed that the dash light dimmer switch (wheel) isn't in the full up position? That will keep the interior lights on.

Yes. It also keeps the outside mirror lights on.

Hmmm... what about the hatch switches? Maybe the doors are OK, but the liftgate switch may be bad? No warning on the instrument panel about saying "liftgate ajar"?
