Don't curb a rim / wheel

Why buy a knew rim for thousands if the tire and wheel warranty for 5 years is only $304. I paid a little more for mine because I did not know better when I got it last summer.
I don't think you can buy that after the fact and have the existing damage covered.

I used rustolium black appliance paint small bottle with brush, which matched perfectly. I first knocked down any peaks with a small dremel. I went today for a second coat and had difficulty finding areas.
Good enough!

That’s for all four, right? RIGHT?

I could never work at a dealership parts counter. I’d be too embarrassed to quote prices like that.
I do it every day. You get used to it.

Say what?
I think he meant the title should say Wheel and not Rim. Took me a while to figure that out since the post wasn't really very informative.

Nothing wrong with the term “rim”. Clearly no one was confused by its meaning in this thread, and pretty much everyone knows exactly what a “rim” is in automotive terms.

There’s no need to be senselessly nit picky.

That’s clearly my job.

$300?? how did you get that price

I've never bothered with that and have never needed anything like that in over 55+ years of driving. I don't know what that warranty usually goes for but most warranty prices are negotiable to some degree.

Blownsmoke said $304 bucks but I paid 700 or so for 5 years of protection. If I would have known that I can negotiate tire and wheel coverage for $304, would have saved me some bucks. Even 700 is worth it with 21 inch wheels and black rims. My front right rim is already scratched from clipping the curb when parking

Well I dinged a wheel at a car wash. Any one every have a wheel refurbished and if so would you recommend it?
