A friend of my fathers is selling his 2001 Ford 150 Lighting SVT with 35K on it and some light mods (420h/500t) but he wants about $25,000 for it or he will take my truck and knock off about $8,000 off the final price and i was wondering if 25K is good for a lighting? i hear they are fast and he has some things done to it (will get a list from him soon hopefully) and just wanted some opinions.

Its a tough question.. You have to consider how much it'll cost you monthly to pay it off plus how much more your insurance will be since the F-150 Lightning is considered a high performance vehicle. Seeing how you are only 23, your insurance will sky rocket if you decide to purchase it. He's only offering you $8,000 off if you give him your truck? $8,000 is very low for a Sportrac.

Not worth it. Your Sport Trac is worth more than that, and KBB gives a suggested price of $23k for the Lightning. You could go to a dealership and trade in your ST and pay less than $23k for a Lightning. Lightnings do kick ass though.

Thanks after thinking about it i could'nt afford it i just called my insurance and they said it would jump from 150/m to 280/m cause its labeled a "high performance" truck too bad the thing kicked alot of ass i got to drive it today
