Greetings All,
I have a 2002 Ford Explorer that keeps giving me a "Door Ajar" notification on the dashboard and a chime when the key is in ignition or the car is running. I tried the WD40 tip but I think there is more to the problem. In addition to the Door Ajar notification, I cannot lock and unlock the doors from the driver's side when the car is running or the car is on but running on the battery. Also, I cannot control the power rear-view mirrors on the sides of the car. Everything works fine when the car is off but when its on, I cannot control the locks, the outside mirrors, and my courtesy light on the drivers side under the rear view does not turn on.
The WD40 trick does not work for me; I have tried it several times. Does anyone think it can be a fuse? I thought it might have been a stuck or defective switch that the WD40 would have fixed; but the fact that i cannot control the mirrors or locks from the driver's side when the car is on makes me think it is a power or fuse problem. Any ideas on what to try?
Thanks!
P.S. I know that its the drivers side door that is causing the problem.
