Had that Dome Light problem with 2002 Explorer, sprayed WD-40 on key slot and It's been fine for almost two years, fixed the problem, now I have the same issue with my '95 Ranger, will try WD-40 again and will feedback !
Seems that the only time the door ajar and the dome lights say on is when it rains heavily. Once things dry out it's fine. Isn't that strange? I'll try the WD 40. Gerry
gerry... your problem is probably not going to be solved with the wd40 "trick". Your problem is more likely associated with water going to places where it shouldn't be causing a "false contact" in the switch. WD40 might help "repel" the water for a while but you likely need to stop the "leak" some how.
