Greetings. First post here. Used to have a Sport Track back in the day and glad to be back in the Explorer family!

Searched the forum and cannot find an answer. Is there a way to disable the door chime when the key is in the ignition?

THanks!

Unfortunately I am not able to help since my 2011 has the keyless system. I am sure that someone will respond to your question before long.
Happy motoring.

Thanks PEter! Can't believe this isn't a hot topic or even a sticky? So overly loud and annoying. On my Audi it shuts off after 15 sec or so which is a nice compromise, and it's not nearly as loud/obnoxious. Older Fords you could unhook or snip a wire or two to solve the problem.

No one else hates this like me?

I assume this chime only sounds when the key is in the ignition with the driver's door open. If that is so, why not remove the key? Am I missing something?
I guess most people don't leave the door open that long with the key in and that is why no one else seems to be bothered by it.

There is a way to turn off the seat belt chime.
It is in the manual.
It is a complicated process, but it works. There is a different process for the drivers side and the passenger side.
