I did a search but found so many different issues for so many different problems. I want to quickly fix the door lock problems I'm having on my 98 Mountaineer.
There are 2:
1) The driver side door does not lock with the power lock mechanism. It unlocks fine, but I have to manually push it down to lock it. Pushing down the lock stick requires a little more effort than the other doors (like it's sticky down there or something).
2) The rear hatch does not lock or unlock via the power lock/unlock feature. A weird spinning noise happens back there. I have to lock/unlock the hatch manually with the key.
I want to fix both of these so they work properly. I don't know if #1 just needs a grease job or whether it needs a new motor/actuator. I assume the rear needs a new actuator. That said, how hard is removing the hatch panel and gaining access to that? Where's the best place to buy these motors (aftermarket would be fine in this case).
Thanks
