I have a 94 exploder, and when any of my doors open (except for the pass front) the dome light doesnt come on. now i know its not the fuse, or switches, because my pass front works. door opens, light comes on. also when i open the drivers door, and leave the keys in, the chime works. now i took out all the switches, and tested them with my multimeter, all good there. i have power (B+) avalable at the switch on the pass front door, but not any of the others. heres my question: does anyone know where the splice is for that circuit? according to my wiring diagrams, they all splice together. ive had most of it apart already, traced the main power wire (pretty sure thats it, i believe its from the fuse box), drivers front door, and drivers rear door wires to the middle under the rear seats, but thats as far as i got, and tried searching on here, no luck really... its the green with yellow tracer wire that im after. thanks all

i went to change my dome light, cause it wasn't working, and when i went to open the glass, i noticed it was already on. it's been on since, so maybe a bad bulb.

uh... yeah that's a unique problem. You should get a haynes manual and start pouring through the wiring diagrams. I don't have the one for your year or I would post it.

i have wiring diagrams for it, but they never tell you where a splice or connector is... so im back to square one, ripping the interior apart... i also know its not the bulb, because it works with the pass front door, and none of the others, simply because i dont have power at the other doors.
basicly, im just trying to find the splice to check for broken wires, cause thats about the only place that multiple wires would break on the same curcuit like that.

alrighty, a solution has been found! so ive found the splice, it is on the drivers side, rear door sill/trim on the floor, beside the rear seat. when i found it, nothing looked out of place till i touched it, and suddenly the dome lights came on! so i opened up the shink tubing and found 4 out of 6 broken wires inside. the only explination i can offer is that because its under the sill, ppl step on it, and because it is ridged (compaired to the wires around it) it eventually just breaks.

Have the same problem with my '01 sport. Got t-boned a few years back and had big repairs done to the passenger side door. Ever since, my dome light and mirror lights only turn on when the driver side door and back hatch are open. It's almost like the passenger door is dead -____- . Good luck man

When I open my driver side door the lights do not come on n my 01 E Sport. My Honda Passprt did the same thing. I was thinkig there is an idiot switch or idiot expectations that was causing this issue. :-)

that'll help us out, kifferrari. was other stuff not working cause of the other broken wires? what are you doing to fix it?

no... just the door lights that ive found so far... all the other wires looked fine there, just that splice was hooped. so reconnected the wires and re-soldiered it. everythings good now :D
