SPT. I haven't upgraded my head unit yet myself, but I saw another thread on here, maybe in the Audio section, talking about Double DIN install. Apparently, you can do it, but some minor trimming is required. You also need a support bracket and and adaptor harness to plug into your factory speakers and such.

Hope that helps.

ETA: Found the thread for ya!

Thats mine^

REALLY easy. Get the double din dash kit, mount the brackets into the radio, cut the "lip" off the Explorer's Bezel, (Youll see what we mean when you take your stock radio out). I just used a pair of channellocks and bent the lip right off.

Then I got the radio where I wanted it in there, and took the easy way out and used a few dabs of JB-WELD to hold it in place. Ive had NO problems since, and it looks so much better

Thanks for the help! I'll let you know how its goes!

I agree with Brian, it's easy, just jump in and tackle it and you'll see what we're saying. That bezel is only 2 screws and some compression clips, and if you order that scoche kit in the linked thread then you get the triangle stabilizer too. Or jb weld would work too :) it's a totally doable project, you got it!!!
