double din install?

Do double din decks work in Explorers (mines a 2000)?????????

The early second generation Explorers had a "1.5" DIN in them, where the front was double, but sloped off in the back to asingle, but I am pretty sure it was changed by 2000, to accomodate large in-dash cd players.

Yes they do. Alot of us have them.

I have a FH-P404 DD in mine. Fits fine. I'll snap a few digital pics of it when I'm in this weekend.

any modifications need to be done to get a DD to fit?
(Crutchfield doesn't even show DIN-and-a-half to fit in the later-model Explorers)

I know for sure that a din 1/2 will work. Have also seen pics on this site that show double din installations. Try and do a search.

I have done a search on double din, but the only things I've found are 2 single dins.
I just may do that, but not too sure yet...

I out 2 single dins in my X , a CD receiver on top and a EQ on the bottom ..... they are so close together they might as well be a single double din
