OK, so no one had any info. on the Blau subs. I have another question now. Is it or isn't it possible to use a double-DIN in an X? I see that some people have done it, but this does not mean I want to spend a week trying to see if it will fit to end up having the unit look like crap. I think that if it is not too difficult this would look better than a single-DIN with all that space around it. Any comments or info are appreciated.

I know of myself and one other who had Double-DINs installed. Mine is clean and looks great as does the other guy's who had his put into a 2001 Sport. I cannot find the post, but this was just discussed recently. I have a link to mine in my signature. The filler looks bright silver, but that's because it is a shiny black and not dull, so the flash reflected. However, normal day light will not cause that effect, nor will shining my MagLite (I tried!) on it. The flash was just bright enough. Anywho, if someone comes across the post about this, please share it. Thanks!

I have installed a double din Sony in my 99 Explorer. The radio looks great with the black trim. I have also just installed a pioneer 4400 double din radio in my Wife's Sport Trac. It looks great with the silver/gray trim. The radios will fit, but you must slightly modify the opening once you take the factory radio out. There is a small lip at the top and bottom of the opening that I had to sand off. Once that is done you mount the radio in the opening with a double din mounting kit for the Ford Explorer.

do a search for double din install pics. i know i've seen plenty of DD installs on this site.

I have the Pioneer FH-P8800 double din radio, works fine once I got the scosche install kit. Pics are in my sig.
