Ok I've had it!!! I've broken the same damn drop bracket in the same exact spot for the third time in 8 months. I'm done with it and I'm throwing in the towel!

Many of you know that I've been mostly against a SAS but I have no choice. I'm going to read through the solid axle thread and take notes and hopefully in time for Moab or CCR02, I'll be sportin a wicked Dana 44 set up. Don't ask whats the wicked set-up going to be. My plans are "Top Secert!"

By the way I broke the bracket about 20 minutes ago playin in the snow. THE SNOW!!!! Not wheelin in the rocks........THE SNOW!!!!

DOWN WITH SUPERLIFT!!!!!!:shoot: :frustrate  :frustrate

Does it involve Hooked on Phonics?

I'll be sure to do that before the swap!!:)

Hey Pete do you have a pic of the driver side axle drop bracket?(The one thats on the passenger side but to the axle for the driver side tire.)

I wonder what the difference in design of the drop brackets are between Superlift and Skyjacker?

You bustin drop bracket or radius bracket?
Pedro, I want to see Skyjacker bracket as well
I called Skyjacker a few days ago and told them how my trailmaster brackets punched a hole in my diff. It seems the skyjacker(and superlift for that matter) do not do this without a bump stop extension.
the part for the jacker brackets is
chb 352 for the super heavy duty ones
the not as heavy duty bracket is like part number
chb 35 but it is only like $30 cheaper
I think I might order the chb 352s soon
works for 4 or 6 inch lift and is $250 for those brackets and the guy said it is strong as hell

Just had this exact same damn thing happen! Freegin superlift, so I wonder what the prices for both jacker brackets would be????

sorry about the confusion there, I believe we (me and studdedX) are both talking about the axle drop down bracket, at least thats the one I broke, my superlift ra's and brackets are fine and I dont really see what the TTB drop brackets would change on the RA's anyway, I will probably try to get this one warrantied, but I am not sure of the best way to do it since I bought the lift used any ideas ANYONE?? But if the Jacker ttb brackets are reasonable enough I will just by them! ideas suggestions bullets matches??? anyone?

All you need is a credit card. They will refund it once they get the broken part back. Give em a call and see what they will do. Don't tell em you bought it used though.

Or, do like I did:

Run a brace from the bracket, back to the from (drivers side bracket to the passenger side bracket).

Once I did this, all problems disappeared. That includes alignment.

And to think, I've still got them laying here, nobody wanted to buy them.

$40 plus shipping was the best to date for it.

TDavis... Pics weren't workin for me... Plus, if y'all went with Skyjacker from the beginning, threads like this never woulda happened! :p
Pete

Where exactly is the brkt breaking? I am using the old style drop brkt which was basically a flat plate and you just bolt your old axle pivot to it. I heard that superlift had come out with new style drop brkt for the passenger axle. Is that the ones you guys are talking about breaking.

Hey Tom, I'm breakin the bracket in the front. The driver side axle to be exact.

You got any ideas of how to strengthin this bracket?

By the way I got the ARB the other day too. Thanks a bunch!!!

Some Info to think about

FYI
My buddies that have Superlift did the following. One of my buddy is the giunniea pig for all the gear. Essentially #1 gets the stuff and #2 observs what is happening (kind of behind the scenes) #1 is super rough on the ol ranger 95' or 97' and has broken much of the lift. Flying off 5' drops and the such. Breaking axles and all.

So what #2 did was see where the brackets were breaking and took his (#2) lift in to a welder before he put it on and had them beef it up a bit where #1's were breaking.

If these are the same lift (likely) the weld is only on one side of the joint.
Bust out the paint pen and mark where you want another bead laid down and take it to a welder.

Voilia you have strenghthened your lift, as well as increased chances of breaking something else that the lift breaking would have saved but that may be worth it.

Cheers hope it helps...

Yes.

Which side of the that bracket is it breaking?

On the front? Have a gusset welded in.

On the back? Little more difficult, since that's the side that TTB moves up and down... but welding the gusset on the front could help the back half.
