Downstream O2's

I have also heard that many people have a problem after installing either a hi flow exhaust, or eliminating a rear set of cats. BUT, it seems that on many of these other vehicles the O2's are located one before and one after the REAR cats. Since on my 98 5.0 Ex the rear cats are after the rear O2, I had no problem eliminating the rear cats, or with my 2 1/2 exhaust. With the exception that its just too damn loud for me and its got to go!!

What is the purpose of turning off the rear 0'2s?

The main reason I see tuners do it is so that you can run an off-road pipe without a MIL eliminator, O2 cheater.
I do it to throw my Wideband O2 sensor in, in place of the stock sensor.

Excellent answer, thanks.
